Default this time there's panel damage!

well it seems i get one problem sorted and other comes along:
no i wasnt speeding or being stupid. it had been raining, coming around a right hand sweeper ther was a hare on the road i swerved to the left (to the edge or the road) to miss it. when i swerved back to the right the ar$e end went out then snapped back and slid out to the right. i lightly applied the brake. the car went onto the grass/mud. lost traction at the front wheels. left front corner headed for a 'windy road' post. i hit the accelerator and hooked it hard right to try and 180 flick the car back onto the raod but left it too late and clipped the post. smashed the light assembly, dented and scuffed the rear qtr panel and half ripped the rear bar off.

getting some $$$ owed to me soon so il save up for a couple of months, hand it to the panel shop "get the dints out and respray it"

Bugger. Perfect excuse to get EL taillights! The guard could end up very expensive though. And I thought my car was filthy!

Not sure how much it would cost, but if you can get behind the panel it wouldn't be too bad. If you need to take the guard off, that's where it gets expensive.

id imagine they would be spot welded in place. Just like a sedan, the rear guards are spot welded from factory.

And if you could somehow get the guard off, how will you re-attach it? and be careful that the window doesnt fall out.

i think i may be able to get a piece of wood up against the panel and using 2 big **** off screw drivers lever it out using a stuctural support as a fulcrum...

a panel beater would pull that dint out as much as possible and just fill it with body filler. no need to remove the panel at all. if you could do the repair your self and just pay a spray paiter to paint it it wont cost that much.

well i was on my way back from visiting my father who is quite ill in hospital and i was in a bit of a daze not paying 100% attention to the road i regularly travel on. it was just my natural reaction to swerve...
