They should of based it on his '69 Trans Am, but Mustang Motorsport beat them to the punch.

No point in reality getting in the way of making a $ Falcons barely in its grave and you get this

They should have an option where you can choose a flat-black bonnet and spoiler from factory. Wouldn't need any numbers or decals, it would look race-ready enough.

They'd have to seriously tickle the motor if they wanted to do justice to that tribute car.

So do Mustang Motorsports use the factory RHD version?
Or do they still bring in LHD imports and convert to RHD locally?
Don't see how they can still be viable with FoA selling them direct?

MM use the factory rhd Mustang. You simply take your Australian delivered Mustang down to there workshop, and after about 4 weeks and plenty of $'s, your Mustang will look like this beast with about 750 hp.

I dont get why people would be upset at this? Falcon is gone, it was buried almost a year ago. We complain we dont get enough performance cars, then we complain when people try to do the right thing.

Sure it may not be to your liking, but at least applaud the fact that Tickford is trying to keep things going on the performance front.

So if a ford Feista was used to celebrate the 40th anniversary you would have no objection?

Paint scheme looks great. Love it.

Not sure about using the mustang to celebrate this anniversary?

Why celebrate the anniversary now? 40 years later

Looks cool. But yeah a bit odd not being a Falcon, although they are both 2 doors so there is some synergy there. If it was done on a Falcon it would have been a 4 door.

I'll support anyone doing what they can to get performance cars out there. A fiesta wouldn't be my cup of tea and I certainly wouldn't buy it but I'd appreciate the work they put in.

End of the day though this is a charged mustang and ticks a lot of performance boxes that a fiesta never could. What's not to love?

Sure it's not a falcon, but how could they possibly do a special falcon now? Looking forward to what Tickford and Herrod do with the mustang now and into the future.

40th anniversary means nothing to me and alot of other people.

The boat has sailed. A 25th anniversary with a falcon to moffat link would of been welcomed.

Every tom dick and Harry is trying to make money with linking their performance products with Moffat. Flogging an old horse.

We need new ideas, modern car with modern links

More about marketing I suspect. Having a product that can be tied in with and endorsed by a relatively high profile living legend is a natural choice. The other racing 'Stangs that could be potentially easily remembered are -

The Moffstang - has been done

Richo's Sidchrome 69 'Stang - Richo's still around, but i'm not sure the car's high profile enough.

DJ's Greens Tuff 'Stang - Could be done, but DJ is the competition to PRA/Tickford so not sure he'd go for it, he could come up with his own Kermit green machine though.

I just don't think the older 'Stang of Jane & Geoghegan are memorable enough, Ian's of course no longer with us and not sure Jane would be good for endorsing a car.

Would you rather no special edition at all or a special edition that just doesn't suit you but may suit others? Personally I like that they've done this, I wouldn't buy one, but I know a lot of people who would.

These are far more than a sticker pack (based off the website), I'd hope if they sell well it opens the door for them to do other things in the future. Who knows some of these other things might be what you're after.

What other news do we have on the RWD V8 performance car scene right now?

Dunno about that ...... not for us old blokes anyway. Ian may not be with us, but his Castrol 'Stang is still continuing on its winning ways.
