Hey guys, does anyone have any experience with these push-in breather fittings? I just couldn't get mine to fit, it seems like the middle 'spigot' part is too big for the hole that it's going into. I measured it and it seems like it's about 1mm larger than the hole. I even tried freezing the breather and heating the rocker cover and they were still nowhere near fitting. Even if I did get it on this way, there's no way that I'd be getting it off again, and since it's too big for the coil cover to fit over, I wouldn't be able to remove it to take the coil cover off. Has anyone put these on before? Is there a trick to it? Thanks guys |

Hi Metdevil.
The latest car I've owned is an AU3. Just for my own curiosity ...... What are they and what do they do ??? Something to do with the PCV system ??? Cheers. |

Hey gutza,
They're for the Barra, there are two of them, the rear one is the PCV valve and the front is just a breather which vents back into the intake. I want to fit a catch can to minimise oil build up in the intake, the rear fitting just presses in to a rubber grommet, but this front one is metal on metal and doesn't seem to be anywhere close to being the right size. Just wondering if I'm missing something really. |

Not the same brand, but I have them fitted to my car.
Catch can off the PCV fitting and the breather just runs back to the inlet manifold. Tight, but the front one is in there. I just hammered it in far enough with a piece of timber.

Don't you need to remove it to take the coil cover off, though?

I have a 90 degree fitting on mine for bonnet clearance also. I'll see if I can dig up a pic and post it.

Thanks Phantm,
I guess I'm just going to have to be a bit more aggressive with it. |
