Question How to Connect a Tacho and Shift Light

If say i wanted to connect a autometer 5" tacho/ shift light for example to my EL Fairmont, my work shop manual states. To Connect a Tachometer

1. Connect the positive tachometer lead to the T terminal on the diagnosis connector.

2. Connect the negative tachometer lead to a good earthing point.

Is this all there is to it?

Thanks

I had a shiftlight connected on my car, and i had to wire it up to the tacho sender wire behind the dash.

You have a perfectly good tacho now... just get a shift light. You will only end up using 55% of the gauge that you get...
