Default Car Insurers: Car Audio/Accessories

G'day all...

Spoke to my current insurer as I'm thinking of upgrading the audio in my car.

Unfortunately, they're quite limited as to the amount they're willing to cover for accessories, and I might have to look at alternatives even though I'm happy with all other aspects of the policy.

Any suggestions? I haven't done the ring around yet... I have a feeling most will be the same, and have fairly limited coverage for accessories.

I've insured $2500 worth of audio equipment as part of my policy and my premium didn't go up (from memory).

How limited are they?

The maximum allowed under their policy is $3,000.00. I'm still waiting to hear back, but the person I spoke to suggested that if I put more gear in than ~$3k worth, they might refuse coverage, as it increases the risk of the car being broken into, even though it'll be a 'stealth' install.

There is a button at the top of the screen, it is called [SEARCH] .

Try it, this has been covered so many times. You will learn more by researching before you ask.

Hope this helps.
