Was just browsing the Pickles salvage website and came across this little gem [WARNING - contains profanity]:
http://www.pickles.com.au/servlet/Au...g?id=552294589 At first I thought it was some mung bean's bush car, but it indeed looks like it has been vandalised. The auction listing with the rest of the photos are here: http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/ve...104543/lotid-0 It reminded me of an XH ute I saw at an auction past that had been rendered a writeoff by, I suspect, the actions of a disgruntled ex wife or partner. Graffiti with such words that shall remain unspoken here, broken windows, holes cut in panels with an angle grinder, and the interior destroyed with a Stanley knife. What sort of right-off writeoffs have you seen at the auctions?

Pickles adelaide had an early 2000's statesman that had been attacked with a golf club. All windows smashed and plenty of speed holes in the bodywork. Was also spray painted from memory.

hmmm doubt its a disgruntled ex-lover, bit random IMO .... had a similar "custom paint" treatment happen to my EH in wagga back in '04. Scum attempted to steal the car from outside the place where I had stopped for the night, failed (alternator had died on the trip down from Canberra, battery dead etc, bloody lucky in one sense) so they decided that if they can't take the car, they would steal everything from inside (stereo, sub, toolkit, first aid kit, anything not bolted down) then go to town with spraypaint....amateur tags on the bonnet, tailgate, doors, roof etc etc. Nice way to start a holiday, knock on the door from my mate's neighbour "Uh, you better come check your car"...... In the right (wrong) light you can see where the paint had to be savagely cut back to remove the BS

Surely a 1.3 litre KC Laser with THAT much damage would auction for about $50. It's onnly worth scrap value with the vandalism and spray paint. One wonders what it did bring.

I had to take myself down to Pick Pay and Go in Ringwood one day, and came across a car (memory fails me, 80's Toyota station wagon maybe) that copped the same sort of treatment.
Plenty of smashed windows, and paint that wasn't on the car when it rolled off the production line. I think he got the message that he was a f..... cheater. |
