Default Tacho! plz urgent help..

hey all... im just wiring up the Apexi rsm that dan dropped off this morning..

i know i can wire straight to the distributor, but i also know there must be a tacho signal wire behind the cluster!

does anyone know which wire it is at the back of the cluster that is the tacho signal wire?

the service manual says pink/blue, but it isnt..

it is manual so it doesnt have a TCU to go to first...

thanks,

santo

It's the pink wire with a blue trace. It's also in the diagnostic loom located next to the booster.

I wanted that RSM you bitch lol.

It could just be plain pale pink as well.

If you can't find it go straight to the manifold loom plug you'll get it there.

On the diagnostics loom, there are 3 plugs. One big mofo, and two small ones. One of the smaller ones has a clear rubber insulator around the terminal, and should be pink. That's your tacho.

If you still have trouble finding it, see an eye specialist you may be colour bling, jk :P.

We had to add one in from the coil when we fitted it to my car.

got it all going...

hows this for a story.. for some reason the wire going to pin 8 on the back of the cluster is black.

A few months ago when i did the blue led mod to the cluster, this black wire fell off.. somehow it broke. after testing it we figured it must be earth. so it was hooked up as an earth... and the tacho on the cluster still worked... got me buggered..

i ran a wire from the diagnostics loom to the cluster and it is feeding both tacho's...

thanks!
