My 12/2012 MC TDCi has just shy of 175,000km, still going strong. Had an issue when I first bought it (134,000km) with the speed sensor in the transmission. Apart from that no worries.

There are lots on here reporting much higher km's.

'09 MB Zetec bought in 2014 @120K kms, currently has 195K kms.

Suspension renewed as it was tired. Timing belt due @200K kms (already have the parts) and will do it soon, I've got no other real concerns with how it's running because it's currently purring like a cat.

If you were to buy one and it drives well one extra test (after the typical inspection) would be to have the injectors tested, a simple leak off test will suffice. That'll give results on typical injector wear or health so to speak. Because besides the fuel pump it's a hefty bill per injector (given you have an as expected good run in other areas).

I had a MB Titanium Diesel Wagon for 3 Years as a novated Lease Car for Work. I sold it withclose to 245000km on it.
DPF had to be changed and the Channels for the Sunroof were clogged up, other than that only the usual Wear and Tear parts. As long as you give it the required Oil Changes they are pretty solid.

Mine has 239,000 on the clock (LOL I think)and never had a problem since purchasing it at 219,000.

Including 4K interstate trip late last year. Used no oil and was getting over 1,200 klms on the highway. Filled up four times for that 4K and had 600 clicks left on arrival home.

How young is the 'young fella'?

If he is quite young, id surgest to get something a bit more forgiving to a caning. I know my first car i gave it a bit of a hard time. Diesels wont love it so much, especially one with higher milage.

wife has 2009 titanium diesel. great car, great gearbox, bought with 150k now 210k. Make sure gearbox oil changed , preferably before the 60k recommended by someone who understands them. They are not an auto but more a computerised manual. Check the injector cover behind main engine cover , if looking a bit soft then maybe need injector seals, do now before costly. Best car we have had

Mine now has just shy of 243,000km, oil and filter every 7500km, new air and fuel filter every 30000km and transmission at 60000km intervals. All done myself. I've had a few little issues but all in all still happy with it...
