Default Twin dellortos in Mk1 1600 GT capri...

Hi guys, well the time has come , i will be fitting a fully worked 1600 cross-flow engine with huge Twin side-draught 40mm dellortos, into my sons Gt Mk1 1969 ford capri, first thing to move will be the brake-booster, so I'll will keep you guys posted on what modifications I will need to do and ,also will need an electric fuel-pump to keep those dellortos from getting thirsty.
I have yet to see a 1600 capri with twin carbs, and i have been to heaps of small ford shows, see plenty of Escorts with them, but no capris, anyone know of any? as i would like to exchange ideas about modifications...thanks ..caprigt

One of our club members has a club car with twin webers. I think the booster was ditched, but they will fit with the right manifold and filters.
I'll try and find some pics.

I was wrong. Its a single side draft. Found some picks of twin downdrafts in an old mag.

I was going to do this to my first Capri (1600 Deluxe) but the brake booster was the biggest problem. I didn't go ahead with it as I was still fairly new at car modification at that stage (almost 20 years ago) but I still have everything to make the swap. I was going for twin 40mm s/d Solex carbs (which are basically a Japanese Weber copy) as they were much cheaper and take all the Weber jets and mounts.

I'll be looking forward to any tips and pics you might have.

Cheers

Jamie
