Default brissy to melb P plater restrictions??

hey guys, i am moving back home to melbourne some time in the next month and i was wondering weather i will be affected by the P plate laws down there?

i have been driving on my brissy P's for over a year now and i have been driving modded cars the whole time as i do not have power restrictions on my Brissy P's.

i have about 7 months to go on my P's and i know that all the restrictions just got tougher again in Victoria. will i have to conform to the Victorian P plater laws when i go back? or will i get exempted?

i need to know as i wouldnt be able to drive my current car down there on my vic P's.

Cheers, Aaron

can u change ur address to a family member up there for the next 9 months.... hang on is it an xr6 t or just xr6... if just xr6 you will be fine... you would be on green p's down here and under the old 140kw power to weight ratio rule.

No modifications at all allowed on our P plates, so if you get pulled over by a cop with some brains which can tell stock from modded, $1100 fine and 3 points.

you are under the queensland licence rules while you still hold that license so no restrictions until you change over to vic.

who told you that? Because they were wrong.. (unless you arent in VIC, in which case ignore that)

Modified cars are allowed as a P plater in Vic.. you wont have any problem when you come here as you're withing all the restrictions.. but get yourself a set of green P plates otherwise you might get hassled by the cops..

dude when i moved to vic 4 years ago i kept my QLD licence. if i changed it over i would have had to wait an extra year as vic won't give you your opens until your 21. keep the qld licence and you are still under VIC licence rules, ring the QLD coppers and they will tell you the same. as long as you behave the polic e wont know any different.
