Default [Melb] Cruise 5th November

The Spring Carnival is on and I think it's about time we got off our butts and got our horses going in our cars and go for a solid drive. I picked the date because most people should have a long weekend because of the Melbourne Cup. I have thought of a few places we could go. I'm always open to suggestions.

The Great Ocean Road (Lorne): We can have lunch at the pub there and along the way stop off at the Ford Discovery Center in Geelong which is $6 admission fee for an adult. Also there is a good spot for pictures down on the foreshore.

Bendigo: I have not yet looked at a map of bendigo but I'm sure there will be plenty to do. Maybe even pan for gold! But I will have a look at things to do there.

We shouldn't be using more than 3/4 of a tank of fuel. Times and loctations to meet will be posted when everyone has decided on a location.

So please register your interest if you want to go and add any suggestions to this thread.

If you get around 15 people, you can book a tour - $4 per person.

Have you considered going east for a drive - eg. round Eildon, Gippsland, Yarra Ranges?

Good point Lagom,

East has alot to offer aswell, especially yarra ranges. or a cruise to the top of Mt Donna Buang.. thats a really nice drive with a stop at a few of the small towns on the way up.. I did that not long ago and really enjoyed the day. It isnt too far to drive either!!

Ideas are great and the more we have the better of this cruise should be. input people it goes a long way

Take care everyone!

Luke - catch me if you can (XR5T)

Adam and I can't go to Wagga as we have a prior committment that night that we had already booked earlier. Anyone else is welcome to go to Wagga.

For those who are staying in Melbourne, I'd support Lorne and the Discovery centre, that would be great. I've never been to the Discovery centre surprisingly, me of all Ford enthusiasts!!!

Mate last year we had a grand total of 2 eurofords - one of which was mine. A very dismal effort but what can you say. I get sick of listening to people whinging about how all ford days are always "all falcon days" - if you don't like it, make the effort to change that.

Anyway, you cant (and im not trying to) force people to come.

As the other Euroford there I agree with Aust, it's an awesome day and set to be bigger than ever this year!!! But I'm going with a mate (Adam) to see Strassman with a group of friends and we booked the tickets ages ago before plans for the Wagga All Ford Day came to a peak.

Personally I think the roads out in the Yarra Ranges are more fun from a driving point of view than the Great Ocean Rd.

There are only a few sections of the Great Ocean Rd that are good fun, there's often traffic too.

Don't think the G.O.R. has a 18km section with 165 corners in it ;)

Point taken Lagom, we will do what more people would like to do rather than picking it myself. But if people are asking for it, they better turn up!

I'll give a more definite answer towards the end of October, as November 5th falls right into the start of my exams (Nov 3rd - 22nd).

Ok. I've got on the 2nd of November a court attendance (motor accident related), on the 4th I'll be out with friends fishing. Just wondering if I could try to bring a friend along with us on the 5th? He drives a non-Ford though.

Still undecided as I'll have to pay my re-enrolment on the 27th (Oct). Currently there's alot of things happening that requires money, however, I still might be able to make it.

I plan to be there. Either the Focus or the Audi A4 depending on whether the Focus is up and running. Yarra ranges suits me best.

As long as Helder doesn't run into me. lol Court appearance???? Motor related????? What is going on Helder???

Sounds nice, Yarra ranges doesn't sound too far. Plus it'll save me a bit of petrol money.

Hahaha, why all the drama? My net got cut out due to an overdrawn bank account, combined with mum off work and a $200 re-enrolment fee, I'm nearly all out of money :p

Oh and the court appearance is for mum's accident which happened on the 6th of January. The other party didn't want to pay up.

It was great, we drove up to Lake Mountain, via the Black Spur, for one of the best drives I've ever had, it was deserted and the air was about 2-3 degrees up on high, so perfect for keeping engine bay temps cool... especially with a big turbo fitted...

Thought it was about time we decided to get together to show those NSW boys n girls that the "Best Club Display" winners of Small Ford Sunday 2006 are preparing their machines for what will be a huge year in 2007!!!

What better way to catch up again, talk cars and girls(and guys for the girls that are going to attend), eat bakery goods and enjoy some of Victoria's finest mountain roads than to head up the short but fun hillclimb to Lake Mountain.

If you're lucky, you might even see some local flora and fauna, like the chocolate-eclair-eating spiny anteater.

So join EUROFORDCLUB.COM cruise up through the Black Spur and to Lake Mountain for a nice Sunday drive. So make sure your cars clean, bring your family and friends even if you don't like them along.

Hope to see you all there to meet new people as well as catch up with the rest of you

DETAILS:

Sunday 5th November

Meeting Point 1: Car park on Alexandra Pde(just off Brunswick St opposite swimming pools) at 8:30am for a 9am depature

Meeting Point 2: McDonalds car park Nunawading(cnr Springvale Rd & Maroondah Hwy) 9:45am for a 10:15am depature

We can have lunch at the bakery in Marysville or on the way back at Beechworth Bakery in Healesville. We can make up our mind in the morning.

WHAT TO BRING:

Clean car, family and friends, UHF Radio(much easier to get stay in contact), money for lunch, digital camera for all the happy snaps we take. Also don't forget to bring a smile along even though it will be early in the morning.

PLEASE OBEY ALL ROAD SIGNS AND DRIVE RESPONSIBLY. EUROFORDCLUB.COM DOES NOT CONDONE ILLEGAL BEHAVIOUR.

Sorry to be undecisive, but at this point it's still undecided. It'll come down to how much money I have left (and the things I need to account for) when Sunday draws near.

However, with exams looming up, I doubt I'll be out at all.
