Default XR5 MB - Trim Crazing

Today I discovered some crazing in the piano black console trim, just behind the cup holder. Definitiely coming from underneath the face surface i.e. not scratches.

Has anyone else encountered this problem ?

I'm not familiar with the term crazing. Can you elaborate a bit more?

Well, it looks like a scratch mark, but it is a raised surface with the outer skin still intact and clearly coming from the inside of the trim piece.
Picture a squiggly line, raised surface but still shiny all over. Definitely substrate problem. Around 30-40mm in length, just between the rear cup holder and the console box.

We have been running the heated seats more frequently recently (-5C !!) and it wasn't there a couple of weeks ago when I cleaned the interior.

Another warranty item to resolve......

And the centre console is squeaking quite a lot now - "itchy plastic" - loose at front of piano black gearstick surround.

Can't help with the crazing plastic.

For the itchy plastic, best to remove the surround and pack it with stick-on foam, so that it is a nice tight fit.
