Just saw this tonight, wondering who else has seen it and their thoughts?
It was the first great comedy i've seen in quite a while, I was a bit hesitant at first when the 'previews' came on. But when the actual movie started all worries were gone! Really great movie, very entertaining and plenty of great references. It was a lot more epic and high budget than I thought it would be. The cast and acting were perfectly suited, I was surprised at how well Jack Black's character fitted in with the rest. If you like Stiller's style of humour then you will definitely enjoy this, vice-versa if you don't. This is something I can see myself watching a few more times, certainly will be a great movie to watch on a drinking night with mates.

Seen it. They hyped it up too much, so it wasn't as funny as I expected.

I didn't see any hype, I just knew the movie was coming out and knew sod all about it. I think I may have giggled a few times but there were no really laugh out loud moments for me.
Robert Downey's character was probably the highlight. I also thought Cruise did reasonably well and was surprised he played a character that seems to take the p*ss out of himself. I thought Pineapple Express was a better movie for me (and I'm not a stoner) but it also fell a little short of the mark. |

felt Pineapple Express was a let down all the stoner jokes that didnt make it into 40yr virgin/superbad/knocked up rolled into one movie
havent seen Tropic Thunder yet but im sure i'll enjoy that for sure. how is jack black in this sometimes he can try to be too funny and epic fail IMO and whats this bit with cruise in it?

Watched it Sat. Haaaa the 'previews' were funny, not very expected, and I had an urge to go to the candy bar and ask for a certain can of drink....
Bit gory at times, like in the first 20 min. Tom Cruise was a crack up. Especially when he started to get up and dance... It has a very high rating on IMDB, and rightly so. |
