Default AU V8 Engine Mounts

Hey guys,

After some advice please.. Bought to drop my 220 motor into my car, but am a bit nervous about using the stock engine mounts after all the work it too to remove the snapped off bolts, most likely caused by the ****** factory mounts.. Seems to be a fairly common thing..

So my question is what are, in your knowledgable opinions, the better engine mount options available to me?

Cheers,
Nik

What if if you use the au mount but use higher strength bolts like cap head screws and possibly get them slightly longer so you can put a spacer under the head then if you do happen to snap a bolt head off, you will still have the body sticking out so you can grab it with pliers and undo it.

Cheers.

What car are you putting the 220 into. If you are putting it in the ED just use the E Series v8 mounts. That what I did when I fitted the 220 into my EB.
If I remember I think there was a problem with the plate that bolts onto the block on the AU's. I can remember someone saying the plates can be warped and when tightning them up can put extra pressure on the bolts.
I replaced the bolts when they snapped with high tensile ones and they have snapped as well. Will be pulling out the motor from my AU to do a few things to it and will hopefully be able to removed the broken bolts

Thanks guys.. Yer its going into my ED which i have fitted a EF/EL k frame into.. I was really hoping to go with solid rubber mounts rather than the fluid filled EF-AU style but appears I may be stuck with them.. For the moment.. Just dont want to have to go through the snapped bolt scenerio again if i can avoid it..
