Can I get a run down of who people are insured with, what type of insurance, what car you have, how much there paying a year, how many mods they're allowed, if your still on you P plates or not and if the insurance company knows everything about your car.
I'm interested to know how people on here go about insurance with Turbos and a million mods that insurance company's would love to know about. Especially for P platers. I want to do more mods to my car and have it all covered but I cant without paying 2 grand a year for full comp. All ready my car wont be covered in a crash of my cause so I'm a little worried. Anyway I'll go first. -EB XR6 -P plater -Gone through Aust Brokers, not exactly sure who's covered me -Full Comp -$650 a year -As far as I know i'm allowed 1 mod -Mods I have include sports exhaust, extractors, 18" wheels and lows in the back -Insurance company only know about sports exhaust! Braden.

Just car Insurrance (no choice)
3rd party fire n theft All mods allowed but 60% not covered at moment (comp cover would fix that) $554 per year b.t.w - your insurrance company has the right to dishonor your insurrance as you have not informed them of changes (mods) to your vehicle. so i would recommend you fix that asap brad

Also helps if I dont have the car anymore...LOL If you have a prang I seriously doubt they will take the cam out and measure it, unless they know about this forum and have documented it themselves.

Guys I don't know why you have insurance and don't disclose all mods, if I had a stack and was waiting for the claim to go through I would be packing myself that there is a possibility of it being knocked back.
For the record I had an EL XR6 as my last car (last year), extractors and lowered for about $1100 a year with just cars, I was 20-21 when I had it. With my AU I put wheels on and dumped it and it put my policy up by a whopping $40. There is still every chance a claim will go through with undisclosed mods but for what it costs to have it all out in the open its good piece of mind

Key is lads tell them you have a high flow exhaust and intake dont specify each mod ie dont say sprts exhaust and extractors just say high flo exhaust sounds better to the lame dude on the phone and could save ya money. PS $400 excess |

EL Fairmont Ghia V8
25yo $1700 with the NRMA, insured for $10k Im spewing it is this much but that is because I have a younger driver on the policy. With disclosing mods to your insurance company, you will find that they might not honour a claim if they find the mod you haven't disclosed is the reason for an accident etc. Also, if you have an accident and your mods get damaged, eg, wheels etc, they will only replace the wheel with the factory item instead of the one you had so if you have 18's, they wont replace it with another 18" wheel if the factory wheel was a 15" one.
