Hey guys ive been told to buy an escort and do it up...there not bad on fuel and have a decent pace and ive been told they can even beat 6cyls. Ive been in a 72 With a 2litre pinto and i have never been in a car so slow.
Do these things really go as hard as people say how can you get them to do it. I wanna beat 6`s :P advice?

ok mate what escort u goin is it mk1 or mk2 there are some goods and bads to get the 2l pinto to get up and go should get ur self a good fast road cam or simular get the head ported and polished biggers valves (mabe) set of twin 45mm webbers and manifold get the head decked balanced and blue printed botom end and a good set of exctors and that should get some 6 beatn

You wouldn't even need the webers as a stock 2lt in a mk1 would have a better power to weight ratio than most 6cyl commodores/falcons.

I like MK1`s but there hard to find. I went and looked at one with a 2litre pinto motor said excel cond 3g n it was a absolute heap of krap and slower than my mums daewoo. So i guess i could be look at MK2`s then..A 2litre most likley aslong as it goes sidewards and beats dickheads on the road im happy
