Default Site issues

As some of you will have noted we have been suffering some down time between the hours of 8.30 and 10.30 during the last few weeks.

We have been working hard at tuning both the SQL and Apache servers to minimise these issues and have installed some monitoring tools so that we can work out what is actually happening.

We have so far managed to significantly improve the database performance but have confirmed that it is not the cause in the process.

At present we are generating substantial test load traffic to establish what is actually failing under high loads and this will slow access down for everyone a little but it is a necessary step in establishing what the problem is so that it can be fixed.

Regards
Russ

We have now made considerable configuration changes and followed this up with a simulated load of 1200 users connecting at once and browsing the forums which stood up fairly well.

We are hopeful that this will now see a stabilisation of services, but only real usage will provide that answer.

Great to see that you acknowledge and are aware of the problem. Good to hear you are doing your best to fix it. Great problem to have the being to popular hehe :

Good job guys
