Hey Guys,
Just thought id ask for your opinions. I have a 1979 Escort with a reasonably stock 2 Litre. It has the basics extractors, standard carby and aftermarket air filter and a 3.77 diff ratio. I need to keep up with my mates in there commodores. What is a cheap upgrade, or am I just not driving her hard enough?? Cheers PS ILL POST SOME PICS AS SOON AS I UPLOAD ON MY COMP..... :evilking: |

You've got mates with dunnydoors? My advice - search out some new friends. LOL.
What exactly can't you keep up with? The so-called mates ... or their cars? If you want to do ricer mods to keep up with your mates there's plenty of options down at your local auto parts store. If the Esky is having trouble keeping up with the Dunnydoors you aren't driving hard enough. LOL. My Esky is mildly worked and has no trouble seeing off any six cylinder Dunnydoor. V8s of course are a different story, at least in a straight line. Luckily for me there aren't too many straight lines where I live so even the V8s end up a fair way behind in a short time. LOL. You want to do V8s in a straight line drag you have to go turbo on your 2L. |

my next move would be to chuck 45-48mm side draught webbers on there u only need one i changed mine from a down draught to a side draught and it made a big difference. also i would put a fat lumpy cam in there and a nice big exhuast. also you could get the head built that would keep those commodores back. hope i could help.

Nice set-up turbo set up there. Thanks fopr all your help guys, i think ill go for a nice lumpy cam, i got a 2-inch straight through exhaust on her yesterday :eclipsee_
