Default Sierra Purchase?

Apart from the cosworth Sierra's, what other models would be a worthwhile purchase?

Obviously the RS500 will always be the top of the tree as far as collectability, but can fetch some good prices. The Cosworths are probably next, but if they are out of your budget there are also a few other models that might appeal to you.

There is the XR4i turbo (the red one in this picture) & also the orange one in this picture has a V6 for something different (it is for sale at the moment for $25,000)

Here is a bit more info on Sierras - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Sierra

The 4-door Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth's are generally a little cheaper than the 2-door versions as well. Produced from 1988 to 1992 I think.
They're a bit more of a stealth weapon without the whale tail I reckon.
In the last two years of their production they were all-wheel-drive too.
Cheers, Jason.

Don't forget the XR4Ti! They are sometimes sold under the American Merkur brand.

I owned an XR4i for a while. It was the 2.8 V6. Went like stink in a straight line, didn't like stopping or corners though. Nice enough car and a rare car for not a lot of money.
