What’s the general opinion here:
I’m going to sell a pair of AU XR 17” rims in used, rashed condition. Would they be more or less saleable with unroadworthy tyres? It’s easy for me to strip and scrap the rubber - just wondering if it’s the best approach though. Cheers for any input on this bit of decluttering. |

Agreed. Scrap the tyres. It makes it easier and cheaper the new buyer to refurbish the wheels if they want, and saves them $40 paying a tyre shop to remove them.

Ta for the input on tyres. Much as anything else, if I strip them they get recycled - not tossed into a paddock.
No idea yet on price for the wheels, will post up a formal advert probably in the coming week. First right-of- |

I'd advertise them with the Option of the bald Tyres, Or stripped down For Extra Money (whatever the Tyre service charges).. Someone may need them to make their Project a "roller"..
Just my 2 cents.. |

Have sold many sets some with, some without...some guys wanted them for burnouts so didnt care, most would have bought new tyres and just paid the tyre shops fee of $5 or whatever. But you cant charge full price if the tyre is stuffed obviously.
Have seen guys put 22 inch wheels on small cars just because the studs fit they assume it is OK...pity they cant turn to full lock. The only time I remove rubber is if I am just scrapping the wheel for cash. |

If they were mint wheels i personally would prefer the tyres to remain on for transit so they didnt get damaged.

Take into consideration the cost of postage and removing tyres when pricing the wheels if you don’t scrap them your self.

Boots are gone, my tyre bloke was very apologetic and says the end processors (apparently the crumbing plant is in India) are exploiting currently reduced trade with Asia and the opprobrium upon tyre stockpiles in Australia, and have dramatically elevated their wholesale price. So it cost me $40 to scrap four tyres.
