It took me about an hour and a half to do my XR8. The only hard part was getting the leads to not touch the exhaust headers.

FYI, EF's and AU's don't run a distributor... The distributor ended with the EL...

EF's and AU's run a Coilpack...

I can do my EF in around 12 minutes now - but I cheat slightly by having the coilpack on top of the charger baseplate - so nice and accessible.

Just a query. Why would they drop the dizzy in the EF, only to temporarily bring it back for the EL? Sounds a bit stupid to me.

Please read the manual carefully, as the these manufacturers spent millions of dollars making sure it is perfect.....Now why are there so many problems with my car, when I follow the instructions to the letter?....Answer, majority rules round here

The EF coilpacks proved to be highly unreliable, so it was back to a dizzy while visteon got the coilpacks right just in time for AU. The good thing is that AU coilpacks fit EFs.

I herd from a guy that worked at ford, they found a heap of dizzy's in the factory.
but reliability has also been brought up and probably more probable.

AU leads are easy. take out the snorkel and happy days. plugs on my EL are a PIG!!! its just all kinda of lame
