Smile more mouths to feed...

well it has been a bit hectic at home for the last week and a bit, as we hatched 15 new mouths to feed at home....

these are Inland carpet pythons (aka murray - darling pythons) we managed 15 from 14 viable eggs.

The co-owner and myself are very chuffed indeed, these are the first clutch we have bred ourselves.

Pardon my ignorance, so one egg had two snakes in it?
Is this a common occurrence?

You would assume so. Just like there are twins born every x births etc. Being an egg would probably be the same.

Pretty rare from what I remember when I used to breed birds as a lad.

yes, there was a set of twins. Not uncommon with reptiles but we were't expecting any.

Is it still the case that you need a reptile license to keep em? Would love to get my hands on a snake as a pet once I change living situation.

what would you like to know? ask away...

i think they are underrated pets. They dont make noise, they eat once a week or less, they dont crap 3 times a day and dont need to be walked or entertained.
