hi all, i've recently discovered coolant leaking from the sides of my thermostat housing.
my car is being serviced this saturday and i am having the leak checked out. can you guys give me some advice? cheers

Just get a good sealant around it when it's taken off - change the thermostat while you're at it.

Check the housing out and if its semi corroded, get a new housing! Its like $45 at supercheap and even comes with a new gasket. I cracked my old one coz it leaked and over tightened the bolt to try and stop the leak. Worth changing i reckon...

Yes I would change the housing did the same with mine and cost me $28. It was corroded and leaking.

yes the housing is corroding, would it be a good idea perhaps to purchase the new thermostat from supercheap and have it installed during my service rather than letting the mechanic decide on the problem? that way they couldnt bullИИИИ me?

purchased a new housing and thermostat from supercheap. i will request these to be installed during my service rather than let them decide on the thermostat.
any further input would be greatly appreciated
