OK, I am being silly about the Mustang rival part, but if you were in doubt about which company is bringing out more exciting cars. There's your answer. |

They had to do it. Without the commodore, Holden have one of the most mediocre, cheap and nasty line up of cars this side of a Chinese manufacturer.

It will sell as well as the Tigra, Focus CC, VW Eos etc. I could probably name another 5 or 10 more convertables that are no longer on sale here. Will probably add this to the list within a few years.

I thought this was a confirmation of the Holden Camaro, but it's pretty much a return of the Astra convertible.

Dunno about that, one of my best mates is gay and I don't even think he would touch it ( He's a Commodore driver ). I'd say more metrosexual.

There will be plenty of Holden buyers who will pick up a Mustang if they don't have anything equivalent. Unless they are waiting to see how successful the market with the Mustang is before doing it themselves. |

That thing has some familiar features inside- same door handles, ext light switches, indicator stalks, window switches, steering wheel controls, handbrake switch, 12V port, etc as the current Commodore.
Of course it has nothing to do with the Mustang, but the sooner they start importing Opels again, the better. No more cheap Korean crap, Holden! |

Why compare the Cascada to the mustang?
Different markets.. The Mustang could turn out to be like the Xa/b/c coupes.. People buy one and never buy one again.. |

No, they actually are. None are anywhere near the top of their respective classes, they are just cheap transport built in the old Daewoo factories and badged as Holden's to appeal to Aussies who don't know any better. Hyundai and Kia shart all over the carp sold by Holden. Ford on the other hand have a great line up of cars once the Falcon is gone, a range more comparable to Mazda, Opel, Honda or dare I say it, VW.

I saw one of these the other day down near where I live.
The rear end actually looked pretty good, but that front is awful and it looked extremely boring to drive. Whilst I've never like Holden, I feel sorry for them when these kind of cars are the only ones they will be selling. |

Mine is fantastic, and I wouldn't have bought an auto otherwise. Conventional autos in small cars are just horrible and makes the whole driving experience dull. So, thumbs up for the dual clutch transmission from me, as long as it works as it's supposed to (like mine). :-) Sorry, this was a bit off-topic, but I just needed to reply...

I think it's more try-sexual. Buy one of those things and you'll try anything.

Lets face we have been pretty darn lucky in this country having rear wheel drive cars as our mainstay vehicles. The average Joe cars will be the mainstay from 2016/17 and you know people will buy them by the droves til the penny drops and they want to tow something other than a 6x4 trailer.... There are some nice cars on offer but sorry nothing fits the bill for me. I've always had RWD large cars mainly.
I know I haven't helped in any way either as I always buy 2nd hand cars, so unless I win X-Lotto in the next couple years lol I just cant see it happening anytime soon either.... I would assume that the Camaro will come to challenge the Mustang sales eventually but I think that announcement wont come til 2016 (when the Mustang is being sold here).... Would be great to see Ford offer a 4 door V8 RWD car to export and call it a Falcon....
