Hi,
I've been looking at this myself recently after a diff swap. I've got the Fairlane/Ltd Factory Supplement for the NU1/DU1 series. Not sure if it applies to Series 2 though. Here's some info, I hope it helps... The speedo transducer sends the signal to the instrument cluster. I'm pretty sure it passes through the big connector in the engine bay. The diagram shows the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) hall effect signal then goes from the instrument cluster to #58 on the PCM connector. The wire should be white, but this is the AU1 diagram. You might be able to confirm if you can get hold of a scopemeter (or try the poor man's method and switch your multimeter to AC voltage). In Connector C-171 (that goes in the back of the instrument cluster) the "VSS-in" is position J2-17 (light blue/white wire #999) and "VSS-out" is in position J2-18 (white wire #999). I think VSS-out splits after the connector, going to the cruise control module and the PCM. So... I'm guessing you would splice the speedo healer in before the signal reaches the instrument cluster. |

If you're running 16" wheels, another option is to use the 23tooth black speedo cog and accept about 9% speedo error with the 3.9's.
