I gather this is for a Honda or toyota and not a Ford? :P
Type of car and more details would help give you an answer!

put a monster tacho in and it'll look sh!te, seriously.
put some mags on it, lower it, whack an exhaust on it! but please, no big tachos. big tacho's are for pretend drag cars like gay civics and sh!t like that. you don't need one, paticularly in an EL. **edited, got a little fired up :P**

If the car is stock and auto, the only purpose of a monster tacho will be to make you a laughing stock amongst adults. |

Now with the extra money not spent on it maybe look at a good set of headers to get a bit more punch out of the car.

Yeah good idea to stay away from the tacho until your car is so fast it actually bends light - like in the movies.
I'd personally get the wheels and suspension done (lowish - good shocks) then save for forced induction. A mild setup will set you back around 6-7 grand, but you could easily pour 6-7g into a naturally aspirated engine, get the same power, but have nowhere left to go. Turbo's/SC's have big potential. /flame suit on -Stu |

I know a nice little shift light mod you could put on an EL for under $40....
More effective than the monsta tacho and doesnt come with the **** factor

nice work, you will defintly have a good looking car with those mods, but if you want a tacho you can get sport tacho's from ebay for cheap (im talking about the whole instument cluster tacho's not the minni/monster tacho's from supercheap just to clear up any confusion)

My opinions have already been voiced in the posts above, so I will just say welcome to the forums.
ELs look great dumped on their @rse with rims. Once you've done that you can start working on the engine to make it go as hard as it looks.
