My car is quicker than a VN/VP SS so i'd have to go with the XR every time. Those SS's aren't overly quick for an 8.

my brother has a VN SS F****N hammers along, it's an auto, he flogged an EF XR8 auto by 6 car lengths, and he can smoke it up with 17's on with 235 tyres and a full car load.

now that is pure grunt

17's with low profile tyres? Low profile tyres are easier to smoke up as there is not as much sidewall flex. What work has been done to this SS?

I just find it quite hard to belive that a VN SS would beat an EF XR8 by six car lengths, I haven't found one that is quicker than mine and i've got a six.

the SS cant be overly quick considering the EB XR6 was the quickest aussie car of its day but i would reckon it was a couple of tenths quicker than the XR8

well this EF XR8 beat a VQ 5L by 1 car length like 5 mins before my brother raced him.
the EF actually jumped the gun, the VN got a bit ahead though cause of the 1 gear in holdens thay stayed even then he hit second and he reckons that's when the EF was left for dead

VQ V8 and SS have the same engine, Holden 304. Did you actually witness this or is this another "my mate/brother/significant other told me that..." thread?

what were to 1/4 and 1/8 mile ET's, 60foot times and final MPH's? That will give a lot of info as to where the VN had the edge and might explain a lot.

Say goodbye to your thread. street racing is illegal, stupid and will not be tolerated on AFF.. PERIOD!
Thats twice you have been told... there will NOT be a third time.

That is one of the worst excuses for street racing I have heard in a while.
