Question Test drive unlimited Problems

Hi just wanted to know if anyone out there has test drive unlimited on xbox 360 and hooked up to live if they are able to play online at the moment. As I just hooked up through my modem and can get the xbox marketplace and download stuff but when I try to play test drive online it keeps saying that the servers are not available try again later. Its been like that since sunday when I first tryed. Are other people having the same problem or is it just me.
Any advice would be helpfull
Thanks

Was working for me last night, I'm at home having lunch so I'll fire it up for you and test.

EDIT: Just tested then, working fine here (in Bris).

Thanks mate must be my problem then. Anybody have any sugestions I have a standard telstra bigpond modem and what I am doing is just using the modem without the computer just straight into the phone line and into the xbox. Now the test thing says its right to go and I can access the xbox live market place and download stuff but every time I load up test drive it says that it couldn't access the test drive servers and to try again later?????? And I am using the one month gold pass to play aswell not just the silver.

Any help would be appreciated very much as I am stumped.

NP, have you tried running the Xbox Live Connection test in the system tab from the Xbox Dashboard? It sounds like your access to Xbox Live is only partially working and this is probably because the required ports aren't open. The test should tell if you this is the case or not.

Basically just go to Xbox Dashboard, scroll across to 'System' tab, then select 'Network Settings', then select 'Test Xbox Live Connection'.

If you are connecting the modem direct to the 360, you wont need to open any ports really

Working great here for me

If it connects to the market place then live works fine.

Yeah the game is great fun too got a nice set of cars, and a nice set of bikes now

Online mode is nothing to write home about really, not all that many people play and the ones that do, never seem to want to race you at all.

More fun collecting all the cars/bikes/houses IMO.

Well I only bought an Xbox 360 a couple of weeks ago and have been playing TDU since then and I have to say yes, it is a decent game.

Nup, not always - it depends on the modem he has been supplied with. Telstra can supply you with either a gateway/router+modem or just a plain modem. If its a gateway/router+modem, it may not have the correct inbound ports open. Most of the newer models should also support UPnP which basically allows the Xbox 360 and the gateway/router to talk to each other and open ports when the Xbox 360 asks to.

Nah not necessarily - AFAIK Marketplace is pretty much just a web service meaning its basically like browsing the web. Its possible that to be able to access marketplace but not actually be able to play online.

This is one of the better features of the game, I like how there's just a metric crapload of cars. I just downloaded a 1971 Dodge Challenger RT the other night from Marketplace. Its a great car, sounds awesome though I stupidly challenged some online player to a race... problem was he was driving a farking Mcclaren F1! I had my *** spanked.

Hmm I don't know what's wrong either dude. Does the game prompt you to update when you start it? It might be that it hasn't downloaded the updates for it, and if that's the case, probably won't let you play online until you do. Do you have a hard drive in your 360?

Yep have a hard drive and have downloaded the update for it. And the modem does support upnp. Its an awsome game but just wish I could get online. Could the intrusion detection on the modem be making a fuss I could try turning it off ???

It is definately possible if the modem has an IDS or firewall that may cause problems. The only way to be sure is to turn it off but that does carry some risk but its an Xbox 360 not a PC so in theory it should not be as vulnerable but still has some risk.

Its funny beacuse if I go to play online it says that it couldn't find the server but then I go into the game and the orange races are there but it can't find anyone to race also if I just do one of my normal races at the end it gives you the option to see how you ranked against the world and all that works it shows my time and were I am placed against other people from around the world. But it still says servers unavailable.

Ok I went and bought this game for PC and apart from a few bugs its pretty good.
One thing though..... how do I play online??? I cant find and option or menu choice for it? Do I need something else installed like GameSpy or something?

Also it wont let me run anything higher than 1024x768 resolution.
