hey wondering if anyone where the escorts with the 2lt leak oil when the rear mains start to go.....cause i think mine just has started and there is oil all throught bell houseing and out side of the bell houseing and on the plate infront of the gear box.....and also can u replace the seal without removing the motor.

The rear main seal can be replaced without removing the motor. but it sounds like it might be a worn engine that has caused the rear seal to leak...if the motor is still running check for crankcase pressure by removing the oil filler cap whilst the motor is warm and idling, then put the palm of your hand over the oil filler, if there is crankcase pressure you'll feel the pressure with your palm...you will probably get a small amount of oil spilled out of the oil filler while the engine is running.
If there is pressure, just fitting a new seal will not be a long term repair!! Cheers Engine Guy |

is it engine oil or gear oil?
it Could be the input shaft seal.
