Congrats to Ford. Now they just need to build lots of them so people don't have to
wait to get one. |

Interesting results that's for sure.
Good work by Ford though.

Best car awards are based on value for money and running costs mostly, they aren't exactly Wheels COTY in terms of how they actually drive. That only makes up like 10% of the score or something.
They are like an Accountants Best Cars Award. |

Wheels COTY lost me when they awarded the 2008 Accord Euro the gong (A good car but not a Great, award winning car). And Honda CRZ a few years later, sells about handful a year and is as relevant as a football at a tennis game. But good on the Ranger, must be good all rounder if it can be the best in class outright and come out on top in value based award like this.

Doesn't it have all the characteristics of what people love here? I6 TT with RWD? Really it is a decent car, personally I like the A45 and am finding it hard to decide which to get out of the two. The 135 M probably fits the criteria outlined better than the A45. The A45 is well known for it's harsh suspension set up, bone breaking in fact.

I noticed that as well, what a load of crap. Then, they docked points to the Territory because it "wasn't as good off road" as the AWD Santa Fe and AWD Sorento but they Terri they had was a 2WD model!!! WTF

totally, Have they had a good look at the ground clearance of a Santa Fe? It couldn't clear a Snake that's digesting a rat!

Fiesta comes third in category despite being far cheaper, better handling, comfiesr and more power with the same if not better economy. Downsides were no full sized spare wheel and dash buttons all located in same proximity.. Wow....seems like a rort.....maybe they really didn't want it to win.....looked clear cut to me...far out!!

I'd also like to note....commadores first win and I'm also sure the first time the falcon either hasn't won or at least been top three. First time ahead of the falcon.

Do your research, most cars in the small category are cheaper than a Fiesta. I know cause I'm currently researching the category to replace the Paj for my wife.

Ford price Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo as "Premium Euro models" which they aren't. and expect people to buy them. Price them realistically and see sales climb. eg Hyundai i30 ,auto is $19900 drive away !! Barina RS also comes in auto..Fiesta ST doesn't..Holden know some people want a sport car with auto. How many more would Ford sell if auto was an option???
Ford marketing needs a total rethink.....

Nothing wrong with Fiesta or Focus .. Ford need to market them !! Fiesta Ambiente and Fiesta Trend only difference is fog lights and alloy wheels. Drop Ambiente and just have Trend at Ambiente price. Thats what Mazda did with the 3. Re-aligned the models...

Oh you should see the reply I got from them when I queried the 'methodology'. A politician would be proud of that level of spin and dross.
