Can anyone who’s got a good memory, confirm if the NRMA once followed the RACV membership model of appending membership to the driver, not per vehicle?

If they did, about when did it change?

Yeah ... as far as i can remember ... I get notifications "per vehicle registration number"

You can ring up and change the vehicle it is applied to if you are going to be doing a trip in a different vehicle.

NRMA still applies membership to an individual. Road side service is per vehicle you can be a member and not have any other services

I lived in NSW a few years ago when my kids had cars and for those under 21 If you had membership you were covered for whatever car you were in. If a friends car broke down and you the member were in it then you could call up and get roadside assistance for the friends car.
