Default Signatures

I've been over at Boostcruising and had a look at their PS threads. Some guys are making some really cool sigs. I was wondering if anyone here knows how to make these sigs.

it was decided at the beginning not to allow them.
some people are still on dial up and others just get carried away with the size of the picture in their sig.

I see. I wasn't aware of the rule. Makes sence. Some of those sigs are pretty big. And i guess it starts to take up unecessary space on the servers.

As Big Pete says, you could limit them. Maybe the same way that the avatars are limited.

generally the user has to upload to there own server, so its not a matter of the sites server. just download times for the less fortunate (56k'ers - ie: me)

but if you limited them to under 15kbs it wouldnt be too bad IMO

15kb per post, per person, thats gotta add up to alot of waiting for dial-up, let alone usage.

or we could have it how it was at the old forums, it only shows up once per page, i think i recall that, so therefore ya only got what how many posts on a page, say 15, 15 x 15 thats 225kbs a page, (and thats if everyone has a pic) when ya think bout it its not that much

its a fair amount if your on dial up.
225kb @ 5kb/s ... its not THAT bigger deal, its just a picture FFS.
you have an avatar.... do u need anything else.

another point, how do u limit it to 15kb?
are the mods expected to check everyones all the time?

but in saying that, ur avatar is near 200kbs alone, that would be nearly a whole page. its just its a way of showing ur car etc in a nice way. the way they could limit it is the way they do it with the avatars. anyway just my input, im not really fussed.

I cant stand images in sig's, they **** me off cause they are usually a massive **** on some crappy car someone has (basing my opinion on rice forums)
Then theres the fact that they just take up a lot of screen space when people get out of control with them which inevitably happens.

avatars are limited as they're hosted on the web server, not off site.
signitures are a completely different kettle of fish compared to avatars.

back to the original question, bucky, my mate is quite talented when it comes to making these signatures...so if you were after 1 for another forum that allows them i can see if he's up for it?

here's some of his sig work

well most people don't have dial up now adays.

You post threads of pictures of cars any how and then people quote them pics to show several times within a thread.

those posted above (sigs) as an example are really much the same as posting aheap of pictures.

You can limit a sig to only show once per thread.

Any how if thats the rule none allowed that whats i came to this thread to find out about, just had to drop 2cent in cheers
