Default what parts can i change over.. crossflow 1.3 - 1.6?

as above.. was wondering what parts i can still use. i assume head and exhaust and intake manifold will all bolt up.. anything else?

all external parts are the same, the only difference between 1300 & 1600 is the block is about an inch taller...
Did you pick up a twin barrel webber carbie at the same time? in early 1600 is was the GT carbie, later model MK2's had them as well

sorry im a bit slow tonight... by external parts is head included.. or do u just mean the manifolds... also its the same bolt pattern for the gearbox isnt it?

External parts is fuel pump, accessories (alt etc) basially anything that bolts on to the block

gearbox, head, waterpump, manifolds alternator, carbie, sump, dizzy, cam, followers
the engines are the same bar the 1600 has a longer stroke
you just need to match the same style of head to the pistons - what I mean is if you have a flat head, you will have dished pistons, if you have a head with combustion chambers you will have flat top pistons.. thats about the main thing to consider if you are swapping heads etc
(I have to have another look, I think I saw a twin barrel carbie in a box of crape, if its for a 1600 & you dont have one, its yours...)

how will i go using the 1300 GT HC head on the 1600? im asuming the motor im getting has dished pistons. and the 1300 should have had 9.0:1 compression?

As long as you use the same types of Pistons you should have the same compression ratio as a minimum - with the flat cyclinder head the compression ration is gained from the block & piston height
