Yeah 1k, does anyone know what ford are doing? the dealer said they didn't make any cars in feb march so there is a back log and then said no sync 2s left and then struggling to get the leather all in the same sentence.

I put my deposit for an xr6 turbo fgx in middle of April and they said when I put my deposit it will be a June build... I haven't been informed about any issues regarding leather or sync 2. Mines getting painted tomorow they said. So mines going to plans so far.

Couldn't tell you what they're doing. I'd be asking for my deposit back and buying something else.

Have a sunset date in your own mind, eg 1st Sept, and if the car isnt in by then cancel and get a refund.
The worst part is hanging on, so set a date |

Could be worse apparently if you order a new mustang now you have to wait over 1 year to get it

Yeah but the Skoda delay is because they are waiting to get enough orders to get a full container shipped!

I drove a Mondeo at a Sydney Ford dealer a few weekends ago and asked about the demand for the Mustang and he said that if I put down a deposit today, I'd get one by August 2016.

The "want it now" generation wont wait and will simply drive down the road a buy a Kia with a 7-Year warranty instead. To the OP, the wait time you have been quoted isn't too bad for a factory ordered Falcon/Territory.

There is always supply of Sync 2 as every car gets it and there is enough leather to build any car.

I haven't read any of the replies, but if you walk away you're not going to get it any earlier at another dealer.
There's issues with supply from the plant, i'm guessing it's due to the upcoming closure.... I've already lost 3 customers who ordered falcon derived vehicles back in Feb/March and still don't have cars. Sucks, but it's how it is. Especially if you want something that hadn't been allocated or is a bit different to what a dealer would normally order.

I asked after a G6ET at the local dealer last week and they said it would be at least 3 months from the date of order before the vehicle turned up. I reckon it would be more like 4 to 5 months before you had it sitting in your drive. That's too long.

There appear to be some brand new ones on Carsales ready to go right now. So depending how much you were quoted it may be cheaper to just buy one off one of these guys, eg. $49k driveaway for 2015 models, or $45.5k for a 2014 model, to which you could probably extend the warranty out to 5 years and 200 kkms for an extra $2000, just saying... Can I ask who much you were quoted?

I really don't get this. If you really want the car why not wait? It's not as if after 2016 you can get another one. 3-4 months is a longer wait than say a couple of years ago, but the situation also has changed. The plant has reduced capacity due to shutdown and sales are strong because people are starting to realise that this is the LAST FALCON. No more.
By the time my XR8 is delivered I would have waited almost 9 months after ordering. Painful yes. However totally worth it when the keys are handed over and that sweet supercharged V8 turns over for the first time in my hands. No use whinging about should have and could have after the plant closes.
