Default low oil pressure warning

had the low oil pressure light come on in my au series one xr8 today
engine has 87 500km on it
runs 5x 50 full syn oil
compersion test done at 86 000km on cold engine 160 across all cyclinders
oil pressure does increase with revs

any ideas what is causing it?

Have you checked it with a sepperate pressure gauge, The manual i have states 2000rpm and above 275 - 413 kpa hope this helps.

Get the oil pressure checked to start with, then get the sender unit checked, and replaced if stuffed. If still no good may be an earth wiring problem the series 1s had.

It will be the sender unit. You need a 27mm long shaft socket to get to it. Ford sell the sender units, as do repco, AutoPro etc.
