As you have seen from previous posts, Phatel aka Pete bought a daily which had a blown head gasket, he came over to my place for the fix. Some other Victoriqan members popped over to watch or lend a hand.
This it the reason why.... Start to disassemble. Prety easy really, just unbolt everything. Shauns pops in, sees the head is off and gives us a 'thumbs up'! No Pete didn't spill his iced coffee into his motor, this is a nice oil and Water brew. Lovely head, needs a little TLC, gave it a blast and came up good as new. Hours later, slowly coming together and getting dark fast. I have to jump in to lend a hand, My bro pops by for a look, loves the clean head and rocker cover. Bro gives 'thumbs up'. Close up of clean head and no longer clean rocker cover in dirty engine bay. It's almost 'turn key!! Pete drives car home, happy with new head gasket. It still needs a major service and tune, but it will do for a daily.

Glad to hear it all went to plan. Hopefully Pete can get plenty of kms out of the new gasket.

Took you guys a day? PppFFFtttt, I could've knocked it over in 3 hours and it would've purred like a kitten on the way home :P
Good work anyway lol... you should have done a fault test while you guys were at it to see if the stalling is caused by any sensor issues. Sundeep |

Was good to stay and have a chat to the people who rocked up. Ended up to be a long day for you boys working on the car. Think I've seen my fair share of plumbers cracks for my lifetime! Lol. Thanks to Wayne for holding the day.

did you shave the head? AU gasket? Crack test the head?
Or was it just replace the headgasket with an e-series gasket?

I agree. We've done many headgaskets this way and never had a problem. Shaving the head is over-rated. That thing will probably last now until the day the car dies. |

I think the term I coined was "scrape 'n slap" ;) ... I coined it from all the money I saved in head gaskets.
Get it.. coined, money saved. Uh, aha, ha.. forget it. Sundeep |
