Just bought myself a new car and it seems like it needs a little work (I expected this to be the case as it was a bargain). It's a 1995 Ef Futura and the main thing that is bothering me is 'Check ABS' lights up on the instrument cluster after about a minute of driving. Anyone know what the problem could be? Is this something I should be concerned with? The diff was recently changed because it used to be a mini-spool with a locker.
Secondly, the front brakes have a fair bit of a shudder when they are applied. I had a quick look at the discs and couldn't see if there was anything wrong with them. The front pads also appear to have some life left in them. Any ideas as to what the problem could be? Thanks in advance guys... |

i had the same problem on my EB when i first got it, when my mechanic did the RWC stuff he cleaned the front ABS sensors and that seemed to fix it. A new set of rotors and pads should fix your shudder problem, i have that too. :(

My check ABS light is stuck on my EL Futura.
Mine is because my rear left abs sensor is in two pieces *Note to self: Take out the ABS Sensor before removing the axle

Clean abs sensors and get disc's machined with new pads.

If the centre was changed, as mentioned by the others, the sensors may have been damaged when the axles were pulled.

Fairmont1998: I believe the whole diff was changed, so I'll have a check for those wires today. Thanks for the tip.
