this guy is labeled as a hoon for doing a burnout.. with a kid in the back.. whilst being drunk...

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574...-29277,00.html

''A DRIVER caught doing burnouts with his five-year-old child in the car was also almost three times the drink-drive limit.
A highway patrol officer in Port Pirie in South Australia heard a car doing burn-outs late on Friday night.

The wheel-spinning continued for more than five minutes, allowing police to home in on the offending vehicle.

When police found the Ford sedan at the intersection of Broadway and Senate Rd, they not only found the tyres still smoking, but the driver's five-year-old son on the rear seat.

The 36-year-old local was breath tested he returned a breath analyses reading of 0.137, nearly tree times the legal limit.

He was reported for misuse of a motor vehicle and drink driving and his driver's licence was automatically disqualified for six months.

Suppose it doesn't matter what the age, add a bit of booze and their all the same.
It was probably his job to look after the kid for the night so he took him to the pub.

i agree with au3xr6. its not that hard for someone to lose control of their car when they are that intoxicated especially when they got no grip. easily smack into something or something could happen in the engine bay that could catch a light and then they are screwed.

I think your thread line should include being drunk. As sober doing a little smoky with a kid in the car in the right surroundings is certainly no big deal.

The holier than thou wowers are at it again.....

Please explain how doing circle work in a car off the street in a safe place with kids on board is crazy dangerous while:-

Riding mini-bikes
Swiming in surf
Riding pushbikes on the street
Riding pushbikes/skates etc at a park
Playing football
Taking a ride at the show/theme park
etc etc etc

are all perfectly safe.

You people are pathetic and your kids, if you ever have any, will be even more pathetic if you don't wake up and realise the life is not a cross between home and away and playstation 3..........

And yes drunk on the road is stupid, but that is not the point some are pushing.

drunk, stupid

burnouts? if it's not near a school and away from people whats the harm? a bit of pollution and tyre marks, big whoopty do, if I was the kid i'd love it! "better then the playground mummy and daddy take me to!"

i'm only defending burnouts, because 99% of people would class a screech of the wheels hoon now days, clutch dump because your foot slipped off the pedal, sigh

what flappists said sounds about right, you'd be killed easier doing a "safe sport" before you're killed doing a burnout (until the day comes when they shoot you on spot for doing one! :P)

this guy was drunk with a child in the car I don't know about you but I am inteligent enough not to want to see any child in a car with a drunk just driving along let alone doind a burnout with the need for a greatel level of control. there is a difference between a wowser and concern for child safety obviously you aren't smart enough to see the need to protect children ( and other road users) from drunks

Read my post again, particularly the last line.

Why do so many in this forum read about half of a post and then write a reply before actually comprehending the original statement........

This is the sort of stuff that creates ideas like "drunk P plater in XR6 charged when found asleep in car" implying that P plate and XR6 was the problem, not the drinking.

Funny about that, we had a police shooting up here yesterday where the officer was told to use his glock instead of his taser as the "target" was known to suffer from a medical condition that may have made using the taser fatal.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the rising number of taser fatalities and backlash?

So much for non-lethal force......

I simply believe in the rule "If you put them in a position to use force, then you deserve it."

The public thought police using thier side arm was to much force, now using the taser is going to be to much force, hand to hand (Although likily to be hand to knife) combat?

If I am reading correctly you are referring to me as the sheep to believe that the police always know how much force is neccesary and never do wrong because that is what they say?

Of course they don't, but we don't need the public idiots believing everytime someone is shot in the course of justice to jump up and down screaming that the police got it wrong.

I guess that is why it's always investigated afterwards to ensure it was justified/"by the books".

Unless I have got it wrong and you mean the sheep are to come that usually spilling there crap about how the police are always wrong, and shouldn't be allowed to protect themselves with firearms which they go through strict training to both carry and operate? However, we are getting off topic.
