Well just so you don't feel to lonely...I used to surf back in the 60s...when they where real boards and not these carve-up shorties that are out there now.

My board was a nine foot two inch semi gun built for big waves...I could go on but I won't.

Yep another one here. I use to surf down Bells in the 70s and 80s. Still got my last board one of the last ones Greg Brown did for Water Cooled in Torquay and my Mal as well it is a 9ft Bear with wood grain and flames, still ride that one from time to time. I have to Agree with John Mac i could go on and on and on and on.

Lol Canberra owns the coast all through summer. If they were smart they might make a mint off it. I think the road you speak of is the Kings Hwy and Id happily pay a toll if they put it towards fixin up that damn road seeing as though i go down fairly often out:

Yeh mate, I surf. I'm only 10 min drive to the beach. But as the crow flies I am only 1500m from the beach. I have to drive around the Broadwater. I don't get out very often anymore due to family responsibilitys and renovating my house, But I am heading out to the surf this morning after I finish my coffee. It will be my first surf this winter.

Yes like my life depended on it ! Though not as regular nowadays because I have too many other obligations (family, work and live 30mins away now) and as I got older I'd get very ****ed off rushing down after work and it was 2foot crap !
Been a beachy all my life thanks to the family.
Daylight saving gives me enough time to squeeze regualar surfs during summer.
Great times with the boys, done Bali a few times,Ulu,Grajagan and beautiful Hawaii !
Lowride260,I noticed a while ago you live on the Peninsula, great part of Sydney and Oz. I was a North Shorey invader and had mates live in Mona Vale many many yrs ago then I went to live in Manly Vale then Queensy.
My how my life has changed since those days !

Just for histories sake grew up in Cronulla surfed the point and all round to what was then known as VooDoo a reef near Kurnell..have done almost all the surf from Vic border to Byron Bay...when you could get a wave without heaps of others trying as well.

The biggest was about 20foot in storm surf off Cronulla point..what a rush!!!!

There was one time Cronulla was closed out..totally unridable...so we surfed the river..went for miles, started at Bundeena and did'nt stop until about Yowie Bay if my memory is good.

I've been bodyboarding for 12 or so years. Had some good surfs in that time, and some memorable waves.

How good is ( any angry) VooDoo also big Cronulla pt is quiet heavy wave have only surfed it about 8-10ft and I once was sailing up from port hacking entrance and there was a 3' waves running a long way down a sand bar way..... inside the entrance, the surf was big, is that where you are talking about.
Have you surfed south coast best waves on the coast I,ve surfed just about every where on the east coast from 1770 (QLD) right round to SA also South Africa,Indo,NZ aslo done alot of competing.

Long story..cut short.. job inland many hours from coast...wife..sprogs..mortgage...etc,etc,etc.

Did go back to coast on a holiday years later the surf I used to revel in,ie a bit of storm stuff showed me I had lost my fitness for the surf..so stuck to cars, sex and booze.

In my day we used to surf the nurses, of course one could not always be guaranteed a nurse on the beach, so often we had to "make do" with inferior vet nurses or tree surgeons.
