"More than 2000 lots were auctioned off this weekend from the D’Alberto Brothers Private Collection, with several classic and modern Holdens drawing huge sums of cash. At the top of the results listing was a 1988 VL Commodore Walkinshaw Group A SS, bearing the build number #333, which has been owned by the D’Alberto family since it was new. A total of 66 bids saw it reach its final selling price of $340,000, which is astonishing even for a flawless rarity.....

How does a VL Group A manage "only 1308km on the odometer, it’s never been registered". Cops should send them multiple fines for driving an unregistered vehicle.....

What is the obsession these days with everybody having to dob and finger point on everybody they can. Car could have driven on dealer plates, unregistered vehicle plates, driven on a track or a private road.

Page 44 has a dust jacket that used to belong to another well known (around country NSW) Holden dealer called Charlie McCarron... https://burnsandco.hibid.com/lot/394...acket?cpage=44 ...he had the Holden dealership in Canowindra NSW for years and years, sadly the old boy passed away last year.... Great life story>>> https://www.cowraguardian.com.au/sto...rles-mccarron/ ....as it turns out he had a bit of a car collection to that was recently sold off... https://www.streetmachine.com.au/fea...-results-video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B93HG_22B3I Brilliant >>> https://open.abc.net.au/explore/152629 Looks like some of these old country dealerships have a few old collectables hidden away, might be worth keeping a close eye on them for that future classic buy......

Some great history in this.
One thing I've been jealous of DP's, the opportunity to build up your own collection is endless.

Because it's brand new I guess.
Plus, don't discount the 186S, very quick motor.
