Default performance mods for AU XLS 5 LITRE.

hey guys, just bought an au XLS 5 litre ute. got a 2.5 exhaust with extractors but thats it. just wondering if i can pick ya brains for sum performance mods as i am old school, also have 351 windsor powered xc coupe but not in the know for new technology, cheers.; mick..

Auto or manual? Either way the edit is a good start, stally if it's auto, higher diff gears if you are that way inclined and a stroker if you want to get serious. Have a look through the AU workshop builds at a few of the XR8's T series and well any AU 8 and you should be off to a good start.

yep and you can look at Heads, Throttle body, MAF, injectors, intake, cam, its still old school stuff just with a computer.

Get a decent aircleaner and get some cold air into the airbox that is the next cheapest thing,have to be worth a kw or two,phenolic manifold spacers are about 120,underdrive pulleys free up some power,platinum plugs help also and this is all stuff you can do at home if you have some tools and a basic knowledge of mechanics.After that it gets more expensive as others have suggested

You've already replaced the worst bit (the std non-xr headers), now time to change the second worst bit....the cam.
