Talking The Beast is back!

Well after about 6 months off the road the AU is finally back. For those of you who don't know its stroked to 347, Streetheat intake manifold, edlebrock heads, pacies, chip, highstall, 3.7's, leather interior etc etc.

I just got some new plates and am interested on peoples thoughts on them?? Personally i love them but opions seem to vary.. For those of you who can't work it out the plates read "I'll Go"... Let me know what you think!

On another note i just bought a new sub, a Boston Acoustics G2 12". And i must say the thing HAMMERS compared to my old JBL GT3, certainly worth the $300!

Lemme know what ya'll think...

I think the plates suit it, because you have the power. Its always hard thinking of a plate that will suit the car. Im still trying to think of a good one for my AU, i was thinking MY 99 AU in red, but thats just pointing out the obvious, and now its taken.

What series is it?

As for the mesh, I think you should go with a honey comb type mesh in black or silver would look great...

Have you got any pictures of the engine bay?

Well I had planned on selling the 347 in it, buying a 302 dart block and doing a single turbo conversion, but first i wanna chase some NA V8 times, and once i am bored with that i'll weigh up my options. (Speaking of which...What is the fastest NA AU V8?) I was hoping to get to willowbank on good friday but sadly a few issues kept me away (I was devostated! lol). But now i'll probably wait until i ditch my Chiptourqe chip and get a Edit, oh and new LSD :

Oh and i am in Springwood in QLD

I had the RDP computer. It was really good. It has heaps of features, but youll have to keep going to RDP if you want to adjust it.

I think mine was 1400 fitted and tuned.

not to bad. i mean whats a haltech worth? then you need to get it fitted and tuned.

but, more people can work on something like that as the software is readily available.

True, i had a mate who thought it read ILL 6.0L, he then said it could be read as "Sick 6 litre". But thats one thing i like about them, they are not obvious. I got the idea for those plates from a WRX with the plates QTO60, which reads "cue to go", very clever i thought but it took a few attmepts to work them out!

I agree with your comments on RDP Edits, i guess seeing as i wont really be needing re tunes often then the trip to redcliffe isn't really that big a deal.

dude that interior is hot, I think that if you got the woodgrain on the dash covered in red leather that would set it right off, just my opinion,
The car looks spot on all round

You took the words right out of my mouth, the interior is hot, but I'm not a fan of the woodgrain. I'm not sure how you'd go covering it though, you'd have to sand a bit off it first to get it to fit back into the dash. I was going to suggest spraying it in the same red as the leather. Either that or match it to the external paint. Or get some TE/TS trim. Either way, it's a very nice car. I don't mind the plates either.

Wow! So all i need to do is to run a flat 13 or high 12?? I REALLY thought there would be a few AU's in the 12's, i have read a bit on firefox's car but might have to do some reading on Peeler's cars mods Now more so then ever looking forward to running it on the strip!

And i totally agree, i have wanted to ditch the wood grain since day one, perhaps spraying the panels is the way to go as i had been keeping my eye out for some T series trim for it, but they are bloody expensive so i have been living with the woodgrain!

Thanks for the kind comments all, i'll try and get some more piccies of the AU in the next day or 2 and post em up for y'all.

And so Stockoau your not slow, some people just read plates better then others

Hrmmm i think i'm going to try and get someone to photochop the woodgrain a few different colours and see what suits, i think the red might be a bit too much especially because the shifter surround has to be done as well. But if it did look good red i might cover it in leather..hrmmm.

And no, the bowser is not kind to my wallet at all, but with an exhuast note like mine who gives a 5h!t! :sm_headba

So whats done to your T3 Jim?

the car isn't spot on yet- I took it for it's maiden voyage last week and had problems with it. As near as we can tell it ran a 13.6 on 6 or 7 cylinders (electrical issues)....... with the slowest 60' you'll ever see @ 2.444 seconds

I posted a video of the run and was ridiculed for it- I'm not saying anything until I get it right again- the thing will make awesome power and run a mid 12sec in the coming weeks, of that I am sure

wow so far only 28% of people like my plates, arhh well, i like em, but intersting all the same! Even my 56 year old mum could work out what they said, and she is nearly blind, lol
