Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or knows what it might be:
Sometimes when Im trying to turn the ignition key it just wont move or even show any sign of turning. Its almost as if its locked solid. It doesnt have anything to do with the steering lock position because it not locked and when I lock it or turn the wheel a little it still does not move. It can put the key in or out many times but it doesnt do any good. Then all of a sudden it will work. Its happened about 3 or 4 times now. could it be some kind of alarm locking mechanism. BTW its a 2007 LT. Any ideas anyone. |

Does it do it with the spare key?
My guess is some pins in the barrel could be sticky and need some lube (graphite or silicone lubricant). It wouldn't be the transmitter in the key as the key still turns, just the immobiliser is still armed when turned and the car won't power up or start.
