no moisture...itll last forever out there.

lets hope they dont restore it? it should be left as is in a museum, its too good to touch. trouble is if it ends up in england or the usa it will start to corrode and fall apart very quickly.

How could it have been unsighted after 70 years just sitting there. I know its a remote area far away from anything but surely an aircraft or something flying in the area would have seen it?

if its remote then theres no need for an aircraft to be flying low, sand would no doubt have been covering it or partly covering it at many times over the last 7 decades, and in a featureless environment your not gonna be staring out at the s=desert from an aircraft for too long before you decide one dune looks like the last one...

i actually hope they do restore it, and get it in the air.

i hate musuem pieces, and you couldnt leave it there now, now its known about it will get stripped, as said earlier if it goes to a wet climate it will corrode quickly.

fix it up and fly imho makes for a far more interesting way to honour the memory of the pilot.

People in GB often thought that about Falconio - that coppers could just drive down the road and find him. No idea of size or remotness.

Remote is the word. Reckon a lot of history would be about the Sahara.

The Sahara is vast...they're constantly finding stuff out there, and sometimes losing it again just as quickly. Similar to how in central Oz things will be discovered and lost again.

A planes a bit bigger than a body though, but i get the idea. They mention its a smuggling route or something though so its suprising it wasn't spotted sooner.
