Default Transmission Overheating?!

Hi All,

Well after spending a couple of thousand I've got the Cougar running well or so I thought (alternator died as well in it!). New issue has crept up with the car. After I drive it for a while, the ((!)) symbol is starting to flash with the O/D light flashing as well in the Display. Manual said it was something to do with the transmission but I'm not sure what this is referencing?! Any ideas?!

I've had the transmission serviced and its been happening since. Wrong oil?

Regards,

Kypez

Was it a complete service with new filter and gasket? or just oil change? When the lights start to flash, does the car go into fail safe mode or drives normal?

I believe the gearbox had a full service. Didnt know they had filters in the gearbox.

As for the car, it doesnt shift to Over Drive once the light show begins. And performance seems down suggesting it could be in a limp home mode.

Thank you for taking the time to help here!

I had problems with my auto a few years ago where one of the switches on the gearbox was faulty. If I were you I would take it back to whomever serviced it and tell them you are having problems.

If it wasn't doing it before the service it certainly shouldn"t be doing it now.

Let us know what happens.
