If the time came when you had to upgrade your eseries car, would you go for an AU? or would you hold out and get a BA/BF?

I wouldn't for an AU, even if what I had was just an EA, I'd rather hold out. The prices of BA's are dropping dramatically as it is, I think you'd be crazy to go for an AU.
Well, unless you're one of those people who says "looks dont matter!" |

Dont know how you could refer to it as an 'upgrade'.
Engine has its good points, but IMO the interior and exterior are just plain UGLY : Best use for an AU is a temporary storage facility for parts until needed by e-series.

My brothers AU gives me the ИИИИs. stupid rear view mirror is mounted too low. |

Giving serious thought to a BA XR6T/XR8. Probably won't happen though!

I have an AU aswell, I wouldn't consider it an upgrade as such.. I guess a major positive is it has a more modern shape to my EL

Im with dave on this one...Id "upgrade" to an "x' series...maybe a coupe or a later xd 351.
Im upgrading to either a porsche 928,c4 corvette or twin turbo 300zx though...sick of family sedans even if they do have names like "ss or xr"

I'd like to upgrade some of the EF with AU parts, but I don't think of an AU as an upgrade, they are basically, the ugliest car Ford Aus has ever produced, and they are only recovering from the sales disaster they encountered with it. If you fit enough different panels they look like a BA, they're a poor mans BA, or a temp. E-Series parts storage facility IMO.
It's good thinking by Ford to make so many AU parts backwards-compatible, basically keeping E-Series Falcons on the road for longer using upgraded AU mechanicals. http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...cat=594&page=1 Mmmmm, what a beast...... :P

Id definitely go for an XR6T. Such a good canvas there to work on, Robs (Mrturbo) is a very good example. I hate the look of AUs also! TS50 and TE50 are an exception though, but still prefer an XR6T.

A few of my mate's have been trying to talk me in to getting a XR6T. Went and had a look at one Saturday on the way back from the wreckers and came to the conclusion I'd rather spend the price difference on the EF.
Next car will probably be an x series coupe.

I wouldnt even come close to considering an AU (maybe if the BA didnt exist or a cheap t series or XR came up), especially now i have an E-series with AU power im pretty content, so I can hold off till i can afford a BA-BF or even BG BH or whatever is next lol
