Log onto http://trove.nla.gov.au/
and type in your name..amazing what family history is in the National Archives!!!

The internet is a blessing in that sense... was able to trace certain branches of my family back to mediaeval times thanks to the internet and national archives of Aus and the UK. Didn't do any of the legwork, other relatives had done that for me and put it online.
