Default Wreckers in SA - where do you go?

Heya guys,

Well, thanks for some ASSHAT breaking into my car on Friday : i'm in the market for a driver's side, rear passenger window (i.e. the window which winds up and down).

I know there's a few wrecking-whores out there ... so who's got some good tips on where to go for e series windows?

I understand EB-EL will be suitable.

Thanks,

Ever-so-****ed-Martin H

Damn thieving bastards!! Good luck finding what you need, I haven't started hoarding parts yet, but let me know how you go. There's always Athol Park Ford Wreckers, but they are kinda expensive. They wanted $85 for an ED dash clock!

I think someone was wrecking an EA or EB fairmont in the SA Trading Post this week.

What part of SA ore you in? The U-Pull_it's at Lonsdale and Elizabeth are pretty good prices for doors, etc I think you car get a whole door for $30ish

All panels and parts at lonsdale are brilliant, as is limoscene down the same way. U pullits are okay as well.

Personally, I found Athol Park Ford to be the biggest bunch of *&*&^ going.

yep limoscene are probably the best price-wise. all panels and parts will have the part you want, and are reasonably inexpensive.
athol park are feral rip-off b*stards, but unfortunately are the closest to my house and nearly allways have what i need so i go there lol

Lonsdale U-Pull-It has aways been decent as far as parts and prices go.

Not on 3rd party :togo:

The bastard didnt actually steal anything. The stereo surround had been pulled off (lol, they even took the screw out instead of busting the thing, nice touch i thought)... but "i pity the fool" who tries to rip the CD player out, she's so solid it will stay with the car for ever (they even found the cd facia, but didnt take it)... they almost had the TV out, looks like they got disturbed... seeing as they left the wire strippers behind.

Lol, first thing i did when i saw the window was pop the bonnet to make sure everything under there was intact.. phew.

And yes - i'm afraid to say... it was indeed the DJs carpark. The same spot where i parked every day for the last 12 months.... not anymore :jab:

I agree with the others. Athol Park Ford Wreckers are a bunch of assholes! Maybe try Complete Auto Dismantlers on N.E. Rd. They've been ok in the past.

Sorry to hear about your car Martin.

Interesting to read the popular opinion on athol park, they taken care of me pretty well in the past. I got a fair bit of stuff from them at once so maybe I got bulk discount/good customer treatment.

I think that could be a good point. They took very good care of me when i baught $800 of stuff in 1 hit (got $1100 of stuff for $800), but before that when asking for 1 off parts they were very expensive.

I recommend:

* Limo scene (Good for some hard to get parts)
* Lonsdale Wreckers (I know the guy who owns the place there)
* Hillier Ford Wreckers (Inexpensive but mainly deal with X series Fords)
* Mt Barker Wreckers (I know the boys who own the place)
* Olympic wreckers (used to be good but are over priced in areas.)
* All Panels & Parts (Have what you need for big $$$)

Sounds like Lonsdale are a good bunch to deal with. Bad luck for me though, I'm up in Golden Grove. Hell of a drive for parts!

I head up to all panels and parts up at lonsdale and I live up north as well. On occasions they have quoted me prices 30% cheaper than anywhere else so it is worth the drive.

Yeh, off lonsdale highway. down the road that leads to the rspca but its before that (on the corner) bit closer than u-pull it but you wont find much there.
AP&P are great, I was there today and picked up some bloody cheap rear passenger windows for my brothers e-series, so cheap we bought them all.
I actually do have to go there real soon.

Man wtf did you dig this thread up?

And yeah Shav, Brenton and his dad Tony own Mt Barker & Littlehampton wrecking yards.

I'm gonna try for a discount from Athol Park when I grab my new interior/woodgrain parts.
