Hi,
My steering wheel has a noticeable wobble at about 45km/h. It returns at a higher frequency but a smaller deflection at 85 and 100km/h. I have had a wheel balance and retightened the wheel hubs but still the same. I did notice with the wheels off the ground, some slight movement in North-South and East-West axis'. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou, Bob |

I would say it'd be your bearings, their shouldn't be any slack in your wheels whatsoever...

Just a follow up if anyone else has the same problem.
I took the car back and had the balance done again with the same resulting slow speed wobble. They told me that my front shocks are stuffed and they had fatigued my new goodyear tyres causing them to be less rigid, hence the wobble at low speed. They HAD NOT rotated the tyres with the back. When I asked them to do this naturally they didnt want to as it would mean more work. I thought I had caught them trying to get me to buy new shocks. When I reminded them that I had paid for "balance and rotation" they relented. End result. No more wobble in the steering and a booking for new shocks. Cheers and Beers, Bob |
