Default 2012 Focus Sport Manual Gearbox Problem

I have a 2012 Focus Sport with the 5spd Manual and it has a noise not unlike a 50c piece crashing around the gearbox, but the noise only exists in neutral with the clutch out. (noise is more acute when engine is hot and everything is up to temp)
Ford said it's just 'gear roll-over' however I think there's more to it...any ideas are appreciated.

Throw out bearing ? Does the noise change a lot or disappear when you are on and off the clutch ?

Defiantly sounds like a Failed Release/Throwout bearing, How many K's on your Sport ?

Mines just hit 24,000.

The noise disappears when clutch is in, however if I let the clutch all the way out VERY slowly the noise goes away...Mystery

And she has 7000km on clock.

I did today and they are not going to do anything because apparently it's "acceptable noise..."

Id be taking it to a different Ford if it was me. Warranty is there to protect you as a consumer from faults.

Rubbish. If you can hear something that sounds wrong then don't accept that BS.

Take it to another dealer. Better still, If you can easily replicate the noise in your car take another car off their lot with the same box and see if it does the same noise.

I had a very loud ticking noise coming from my wiper control unit. Only started to happen 6 months into ownership. Service guy sits in the car to hear it and says, you are right, doesn't sound very good. I'll investigate.

Got a call to say it was normal, and that they all do that. Funny, didn't do it from the start?? I requested trying another car to see if it was the same but of course there were none available to me and left it...

Still annoys me to this day. Don't let them fob you off....

Name and shame IMO, put em all on a list of dodgy dealerships not to buy from.
